1973Fender Super Reverb (4x10 All tube combo) Silver Face, Master volume This is without a doubt the holy grail of blues amplification. This amp is about tone...especially for Blues players. The Super Reverb is everything that its reputation says it is. Although I'm a Blues guy I can sure envision this with a Tele doing fabulous country tone. Or great roots or classic rock. No metal though.If you dig great blues tone or simply state of the art vintage Fender tone you must get this amp. Not to discount the importance and tone of the Twin Reverb or the Deluxe Reverb ( both holy grail amps on their own)but I haven't played a TR or DR that gives me the same "vibe" as the Super Reverb.Maybe its the mid power (40 watts). Maybe its the 4x10 configuration ( my personal favorite). Maybe both but this is one gorgeous tone machine. |
